Dr. Marcello Celestini is a medical doctor and surgeon, specialized in Orthopaedics and Traumatology as well as in Physiatrics, with a professional career spanning more than four decades.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan and completed his specialist training at several prestigious Italian universities. He earned his specialization in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the University of Milan, his specialization in Physiatrics at Sapienza University of Rome, and a further specialization in Sports Medicine at the University of Chieti.

Dr. Celestini has gained extensive clinical experience at Santo Spirito Hospital in Rome, where he served as Chief of Physiatrics. From 2001 to 2013, he also held the position of Director of the Rehabilitation Department of the ASL RM/E/A Local Health Authority.

Earlier in his career, he worked as an Orthopaedic Assistant Physician at the CTO Hospital in Milan and served as a Medical Second Lieutenant at the Military Hospital of Milan.

Throughout his career, he has developed substantial expertise in physical medicine, rehabilitation, orthopaedics and traumatology, with particular emphasis on the integrated management of both outpatient and inpatient care.

Since 2010, he has served as a Medical Expert for the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints and as a Consultant Physiatrist at the Medical Center of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Italian Republic.

Since 2016, he has been serving as an Orthopaedic Consultant at Policlinico Italia.

Dr. Celestini has also held several prestigious institutional and charitable positions, including serving as a Technical Advisor to the Italian Ministry of Health, a member of the Cardinal Pio Laghi Foundation, and President of the Roboris Foundation at the Adelphi Center in Rome (Santa Maria della Pietà), dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of patients with severe acquired brain injuries.

He is the author of more than one hundred scientific publications and a monograph on low back pain. He has delivered presentations and lectures at numerous international conferences on Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.

He also holds several distinguished honorary appointments, including Council Member of ACISMOM, Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, and Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) to the Republic of San Marino.
