After graduating in Medicine and Surgery at La Sapienza University in Rome, she specialized in Cardiology at the same university. Dr. Romano further enhanced her expertise with two advanced degrees: in 2004, a master’s in echocardiography for ischemic heart diseases at the Institute of Clinical Physiology CNR-CREAS in Pisa, and in 2018, a master’s in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging at the Monzino Cardiology Center in Milan.
Dr. Romano has extensive clinical experience, which includes clinical cardiology and pharmacological management of patients; cardiac diagnostics, with expertise in echocardiography, stress testing, and vascular ultrasound; cardiac rehabilitation; and intensive cardiac care.
Since 1998, she is staff physician in the Coronary Care (UTIC) and Intensive Care (USIC) services within the Cardiology Department of Santo Spirito Hospital in Rome.
Cardiovascular prevention in women is one of her primary areas of interest. In 2016 she won the "Best Practice" award from the Onda Foundation for her work on cardiovascular diseases in women. Since 2019, she is in charge of the Women’s Cardiovascular Prevention Clinic at Santo Spirito Hospital, further establishing her role as a leading expert in this field.
Dr. Romano is a frequent speaker at numerous training courses for physicians, cardiologists, and nurses, and regularly attends national and international conferences. She is also the author and co-author of several scientific publications in both Italian and international journals.
Additionally, she serves on the scientific committee of Cuore Amico, the journal of the Cuore Sano Association, where she contributes to spreading awareness about cardiovascular prevention.
