The Elbow

The elbow is a complex and delicate structure consisting of three joints working in synergy. The bony structures that constitute them are the humerus, ulna, and radius, organized into ulnohumeral, radio humeral and radioulnar joints.

There are several pathologies that can affect the elbow, the main ones being:

  • Fractures and/or their vicious healing.
  • Sprains and dislocations.
  • Post-traumatic joint stiffness.
  • Instabilities and ligamentous injuries.
  • Biceps and triceps tendon injuries.
  • Epicondylitis and Epitrochleitis (i.e. "Tennis elbow" and "Little League elbow").
  • Olecranial bursitis.
  • Acute and chronic neurological injuries.
