UPMC Salvator Mundi: Symani Robot Arrives for Microsurgery

UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital is proud to announce the acquisition of the Symani robotic system, one of the most advanced technologies in the field of robotic surgery. This makes us the second center in Italy, and the first in Rome and Lazio, to have this innovative robotic platform.

The Symani robotic system is specifically designed for open microsurgery and super microsurgery, offering unprecedented precision and unique versatility. This teleoperated platform consists of a robotic cart with two arms, an ergonomic console with handpieces and pedals for precise movement control, and NanoWrist instruments, the smallest in the world, which enhance and extend the surgeon's hand movements.

Thanks to these features, the Symani system allows surgeons to perform anastomoses, sutures, and ligatures of small anatomical structures with millimeter precision, reducing operating times and improving patient outcomes.

Our specialist surgeon and the entire operating room nursing team have completed a dedicated training course on the use of the Symani system, ensuring the highest level of expertise and safety in performing surgeries.
