ISMETT-UPMC Presents MEDTASS 2025: International CME Event

On May 16-17, 2025 IRCCS ISMETT and UPMC will host the eighth edition of the "Mediterranean Transplantation Anesthesiology and Simulation Symposium" (MEDTASS) in Palermo. This event is a national benchmark for updates on the most innovative methodologies and therapeutic approaches in critical patient care.

MEDTASS 2025 will pay tribute to Victor Scott, a pioneer in anesthesia and resuscitation in the field of transplantation at ISMETT. His teachings will serve as the foundation for a rich program addressing crucial topics such as:

  • Extracorporeal support in advanced care settings.
  • Optimal resource management in Intensive Care.
  • New frontiers in donation after circulatory death.
  • Perioperative management of complex cases.
  • The most advanced loco-regional anesthesia techniques.
  • The growing role of Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality in supporting anesthesia.

The Symposium features a comprehensive program of keynote lectures, hands-on workshops, and interactive sessions with national and international experts. The goal is to transform knowledge into practical tools for clinical practice, fostering a multidisciplinary exchange between physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and cardiovascular perfusion technicians.

MEDTASS is a free event and accredited for 13 CME credits for the following professions:

  • Cardiovascular Physiopathology and Perfusion Technician.
  • Physiotherapist.
  • Nurse.
  • Medical Doctor (specialties: Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology, General Surgery, Nephrology, Pediatric Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Gastroenterology, Respiratory Diseases, Infectious Diseases).
