At UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital, the Clinical Laboratory offers a full spectrum of diagnostic tests for adults and children with fast reporting and high quality standards.

To undergo a laboratory test, please bring with you a medical prescription issued by your GP or specialist and indicating the diagnostic referral and/or detailed list of the tests you need to perform.

All tests can be booked via smih_laboratorio@upmc.it (please specify your preferred date/time and enclose the medical prescription).

Available Services

Preparation for routine blood tests

• Maintain a fast for 8–12 hours before the test.
• Avoid intense physical activity for 12 hours before the test.
• Do not smoke or consume alcoholic beverages for 12 hours before the test.

Predictive Genetic Testing

At UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital, advanced genetic testing is available to assess predisposition to specific health conditions.

Important Information: All genetic tests require a mandatory preliminary consult, free of charge by our partner Eurofins Genoma.

How to proceed to carry out a genetic test

1. Book Your Remote Consult: Contact the geneticist at +39 347 427 4168 to schedule a telephone or video consult.
2. Informed Consent: Complete the informed consent form, which will be reviewed and signed together with the geneticist during the genetic counselling appointment.
3. The Test: Please visit our Laboratory bringing with you the informed consent form completed and signed by the geneticist. Blood sample collection by appointment only. Contact smih_laboratorio@upmc.it.

Prevention Packages

Our Laboratory Medicine Department offers a range of personalized screening packages dedicated to disease prevention and wellness monitoring. These packages may be booked without a medical prescription by sending an email to smih_laboratorio@upmc.it.
