Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery

The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute is one of the world’s premier centers for comprehensive cardiovascular care. Neurology and Neurosurgery

The UPMC Neurological Institute, the largest academic neurosurgery department in the United States, has received national and international recognition for minimally invasive neurosurgery and stroke treatment. Our team at the Institute, which is comprised of the UPMC Department of Neurology and UPMC Department of Neurosurgery, works together to offer new hope to patients with complex brain, skull base, and spine disorders.

Oncology

Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, and Concussion

Transplantation

UPMC Transplant Services is a world leader in organ transplantation, having performed thousands of surgical procedures since its founding in 1981, including the most Living-Donor Liver Transplants in the United States. In addition, IRCCS ISMETT in Palermo, Italy, is a transplant center of excellence and a reference hospital for the entire Mediterranean area.

UPMC Transplant Services treats many patients with complex cases, even some who have been turned away by other hospitals.
