Professor Pierluigi Bove is Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He completed a research fellowship in 2003 under the guidance of Professor L.R. Kavoussi at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine - The James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute, in Baltimore (USA). In 2004 he completed a surgical fellowship under the guidance of Professor F.J. Kim at the University of Colorado, Denver (USA), and attended a masterclass in Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy under the guidance of Professor G. Vallancien at the Université René Descartes, in Paris. In 2009 he attended a second level Master's degree in Andrology at the University of Pisa. He has qualified as a Consul Surgeon for the da Vinci Surgical System since 2019.

Professor Bove is the author and co-author of approximately 150 scientific publications (H-index 32, www.scopus.com, April 2024); furthermore, he is Principal Investigator for several scientific studies and research. He is a member of the scientific committee of the Italian Endourological Association (IEA), of the Italian Group for Laparo-Endoscopic Urological Surgery and Advanced Robotics (AGILE), of the Torvergata Oncoscience Research (TOR) group and of the Jackson Hole Urologic Seminars. He is a member of the Surgical Advisory Board of Boston Scientific-Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy.

He has performed over 4500 major urological surgeries as first operator, mainly with a minimally invasive approach (pure or robot-assisted laparoscopy).

Since 2018 he has been Head of the Department of Urology at the San Carlo di Nancy GVM Care & Research Hospital. Since March 2024 he has been Head of Robotic and Minimally Invasive Urology at the University Hospital Policlinico Tor Vergata.
