specialist-professional-biography-headingFrancesco Buschini, M.D., specializes in Orthopedics and Traumatology, with solid expertise in hip and knee replacement surgery, knee arthroscopy, and sports traumatology.
His main focus includes the treatment of osteoarthritis of the hip (coxarthrosis) and knee (gonarthrosis), meniscal tears, and ligament injuries (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL), including trauma-related and sports-related injuries.
In prosthetic surgery, he uses innovative, minimally invasive techniques such as the anterior approach for hip replacement, which allows for muscle-sparing procedures and faster recovery with fewer postoperative complications. For advanced knee osteoarthritis, he performs both partial (unicompartmental) and total knee replacements.
After graduating with honors in Medicine and Surgery from Sapienza University of Rome, he completed his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology with honors at Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome. He further developed his training through various fellowships in Italy and abroad, including with Prof. Paolo Adravanti in Parma, Prof. Pier Paolo Mariani in Rome, and most recently in the United States with Prof. Joel Matta, focusing on the anterior minimally invasive technique for hip osteoarthritis, osteonecrosis, and dysplasia.
He regularly participates in national and international conferences and advanced training courses. He currently practices also at IRCCS Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio in Milan and Policlinico San Pietro in Ponte San Pietro (BG).
