Prof. Aldo Caporossi

Professor Caporossi is an ophthalmologist. He completed his training in numerous hospitals in the U.S.A. and is particularly expert in laminated and endothelial corneal transplant, cataract surgery, glaucoma, refractive surgery, as well as in the system of intraocular lenses among others. He is the inventor of various surgical tools including an intraocular lens produced in the United States and sold all over the world. His latest creation is the first Italian prototype-illuminator for corneal cross-linking. He is Medical director responsible for the complex ophthalmology structure of the A.Gemelli University Hospital of Rome and former Professor and director of the complex operating unit of ophthalmology at the Department of Odontostomatological and Ophthalmological Sciences of the University of Siena. He was president of numerous Italian ophthalmological societies.
