Dr. Michele Catalano graduated with honours from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome Policlinico Gemelli with a thesis on the use of 3D photogrammetry to analyse the aesthetic outcome after reconstructive surgery of the nose for cutaneous carcinoma.

Subsequently, he obtained his specialisation in Otolaryngology with top marks at the University of Siena Policlinico Le Scotte, discussing a thesis on the treatment of extensive defects of the ossicular chain. During his specialisation, he had the opportunity to approach the Tuscan School of Audiovestibology, thus enriching his training in the audiovestibular field.

His practical experience was enriched by active participation at the U.O.C of Otolaryngology of the S. Giovanni Addolorata Hospital in Rome, under the guidance of Prof. Camaioni, focusing on oncological surgery of the head and neck region and on the outpatient follow-up of patients.

He continued his training by attending courses in head and neck dissection and took part in congresses on rhinoallergology, the treatment of chronic rhinosinuisitis with nasal polyposis, and recent therapy with biological drugs. In addition, he has gained experience in the crenotherapy of rhinogenic deafness with endotympanic insufflations at spas in the Sienese lands.
