Valeria Ciapparoni is a medical doctor specialized in Ophthalmology. After graduating in Medicine and Surgery at La Sapienza University in Rome, she specialized in Ophthalmology at the same university, both cum laude.

For years, Dr. Ciapparoni focused her professional and research activity on the study of eye diseases in acquired immune deficiency syndrome and HIV-positive patients. This research was conducted with grants from the Italian Ministry of Health at IRCCS San Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital, from the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, and ANLAIDS (National Association for the Fight Against AIDS) at the Department of Ophthalmology of La Sapienza University in Rome. Her studies also addressed ocular toxoplasmosis, neuro-ophthalmologic lesions, and retinal microangiopathy in AIDS patients.

Dr. Ciapparoni has gained extensive professional experience, including roles at the Ophthalmic Hospital of Rome, where she worked in specialized outpatient emergency care and clinical ophthalmology, focusing on pediatric low vision, and at the day surgery ophthalmology clinic of San Carlo-IDI Hospital.

She is the author of several scientific publications and a member of the Italian Association of Ophthalmologists (AIMO).
