After graduating in Medicine and Surgery and specializing in Diseases of the Cardiovascular System, both with honors at the University La Sapienza of Rome, he completed a diploma in Vascular Doppler at the Gemelli Hospital – Columbus Integrated Complex.
His career also took him to Nepal, where he worked as an emergency physician at the Chitwan Medical College teaching hospital in Bharatpur. Back in Italy, he served as an emergency physician with the Italian 118 emergency medical service and completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the S. Camillo Hospital in Rome.
From 2020 to 2023, Dr. Cortellesi served as a senior cardiologist at the hemodynamics unit of the San Giovanni Evangelista Hospital in Tivoli, performing around 150 angioplasties per year. He is also a certified ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) operator of the American Heart Association.
Currently, Dr. Cortellesi is a staff cardiologist at the Cardiology Unit of Santo Spirito in Sassia Hospital in Rome.
