Professor Delitala is a neurgosurgeon who has worked as Director of the UOC of Neurosurgery of the San Camillo Forlanini hospital in Rome, where he had been on staff since 1979. From 2018 to 2020 he was the Director of the Neuroscience-Testa-Collo Department of the same hospital. He is professor of neurosurgery at the School of Specialization and at the school of Higher Education in neurovascular interventional of the Sapienza University of Rome and has carried out about 10,000 interventions to date, mainly on cerebral tumors, basicranium lesions, aneurysms and vascular malformations, traumatic lesions, trigeminal neuralgia, hydrocephalus, neuroendoscopy, spondylosis and cervical and lumbar tumors, disk hernia, spinal instability, carpal tunnel. He is a consultant of the United States Embassy Health Unit in Rome and the Health Assistance Fund (FAS) of the Vatican City State and the High consultant of the Italian Navy. In the two-year period 2014-2016, he was president of Sinch (Italian Neurosurgery Society) and among others president of the Mediterranean Association of Neurosurgical Society (Mans), officer of the B&L Committee of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS). He has authored over 100 publications and has participated in more than 300 congresses and meetings.
