        After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna, Dr. Alberto Grassi completed his specialisation in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the same university, and his PhD in Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences.

        He currently holds the position of permanent Medical Director in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the II Orthopaedic Clinic of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna. There, he performed more than 1,000 surgical procedures as first operator.

        Dr. Grassi's main areas of intervention include arthroscopic and minimally invasive knee and ankle surgery in adults and children, standard and computer-assisted prosthetic surgery, sports traumatology and ligament injuries, as well as cartilage regenerative treatments, meniscal transplants and biological joint reconstructions.

        Dr. Grassi is also actively involved in national and international research projects, particularly in the fields of knee surgery and arthroscopic surgery, sports traumatology and the treatment of early arthrosis.

        Over the years, Dr. Grassi has completed several fellowships abroad, at the Department of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Foot and Ankle Surgery at Duke University (USA) and at numerous European and International Sports Traumatology centres, including the Orthopadische Chirurgie München in Munich (Germany), the Bispebjerg Hospital in Copenhagen (Denmark), the Centre Osteo-Articulaire des Cedres in Grenoble (France), the Hospital de Masises in Valencia (Spain), the Clinica Universisdad de Navarra in Madrid (Spain), the UPMC Centre in Pittsburgh (USA), UCLA University in Los Angeles (USA), the Rush Clinic in Chicago (USA) and the Kennedy-Fowler Clinic in London-Ontario (Canada). He has also obtained the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Football Medicine Diploma.
