Dr. Maria Cristina Macciomei

Dr. Macciomei is a specialist in Anatomy and Pathological Histology. She completed advanced training in Gastro-intestinal Pathology at the “Department of Pathology (Morphology and Molecular Pathology)”, of the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), where she studied differential diagnosis of colitis, chronic inflammatory diseases, intestinal disorders, dysplasia in inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett's esophagus, and dysplasia in Barrett's esophagus. She has experience in pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract; histopathological and cytopathological diagnostics with reporting and signing of an average of 3,500 histological and cytological examinations per year, of which she manages the entire diagnostic procedure. Dr. Macciomei is a first level Medical Director – U.O.C. Anatomy and Pathological Histology of the San Camillo-Forlanini Hospital in Rome. She practices at UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital.
