Dr. Riccardo Maggi

Dr. Riccardo Maggi has extensive experience in the field of ophthalmology, both on adult and paediatric patients. He has performed more than 10,000 operations as a first operator - most of them on children - and is particularly experienced in the surgical treatment of congenital glaucoma and cataracts and strabismus.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialised in Ophthalmology at La Sapienza University in Rome. He is in charge of the Visual Rehabilitation Centre at the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital in Rome.

Member of the Italian Ophthalmological Society (SOI) and representative for Italy in the European Reference Network (ERN-EYE), a European Commission body committed to sharing studies and treatments of rare eye diseases.
