Dr. Patricia Moran Alvarez is a physician and surgeon specialized in Rheumatology, with extensive international experience in the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal disorders and systemic autoimmune diseases. Her clinical expertise spans both adult and pediatric populations.

In adults, she focuses on the management of complex conditions that may involve not only the joints but also multiple organs and systems. Her areas of practice include major systemic autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, dermatomyositis, and vasculitis; chronic arthritides including rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, and psoriatic arthritis; crystal-induced arthropathies such as gout; and metabolic bone diseases such as osteoporosis.

In pediatrics, she is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and longitudinal follow-up of autoimmune and autoinflammatory disorders. Her clinical scope encompasses musculoskeletal pain, juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), pediatric-onset systemic autoimmune diseases (including childhood lupus, juvenile dermatomyositis, scleroderma, and vasculitides), recurrent fevers and hereditary autoinflammatory syndromes, chronic non-bacterial osteomyelitis, and other inflammatory bone disorders.

She earned her medical degree from the Universidad de Oviedo and completed her residency in Rheumatology at the Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal in Madrid.

From 2021 to 2025, she carried out clinical and research activities in Rheumatology at the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome. In 2025, she further specialized in pediatric rheumatology at the Hôpital Femme-Mère-Enfant in Lyon.

She is the author of scientific publications in both national and international peer-reviewed journals.
