Dr. Marco Stefano Nazzaro is a medical surgeon specialising in interventional cardiology. After graduating in Medicine and Surgery, he specialised in Cardiology, obtaining both degrees with top marks at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He also continued his professional training in various experiences abroad, such as at the Jaques Cartier Massy Institute in Paris and the Department of Interventional Cardiology, Thoraxcenter in Rotterdam.

He is a Level I medical director at the San Camillo Hospital in Rome, dealing in particular with the treatment of acute ischemic heart disease (acute myocardial infarction) and chronic heart disease through coronary angioplasty, with more than 10,000 cardiac interventions performed, even in complex scenarios such as chronic occlusions or calcific lesions.

Dr. Nazzaro is an expert in the treatment of advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock through the use of cardiac assist devices such as Impella, Tandem Heart, and aortic counterpulsator. In addition, he is certified in the treatment of aortic valve disease using TAVI and stroke prevention with percutaneous closure of the left auricle, closure of PFO and interatrial defects.

He uses all modern imaging and functional intracoronary techniques (OCT,IVUS,FFR,iFR) together with traditional methods (ECG, echocardiogram, stress tests, cardiac Holter). He is also an expert in stress CardioRM.

He has collaborated on several humanitarian projects for the construction of haemodynamic and interventional cardiology rooms in Ethiopia, Mali and Mauritania. He is author of numerous scientific publications and speaker at national and international congresses.
