Dr. Sandro Petrolati is a medical surgeon specialising in cardiology. After graduating in Medicine and Surgery with honours from La Sapienza University in Rome, he specialised in Cardiology at the Sacred Heart Catholic University. He is dedicated, in particular, to the treatment and management of cardiological emergencies. He is an expert in first and second level ecocardiography, as well as in emergency and urgent ecocardiography.

He has extensive experience, consolidated over more than thirty years of service at the San Camillo Forlanini Hospital in Rome, for which he held the position of Medical Director Cardiologist from 1987 to 2024, as well as Director of the UOSD of Integrated Cardiology Services at the Cardio-Thoracic-Vascular Department, from 2004 to 2024.

Appointed Knight of the Italian Republic in 1991, Dr. Petrolati has been involved in cooperation projects for developing countries since 2006, actively participating in health collaboration and training missions in sub-Saharan Africa. Since 2016 he has been collaborating with the Community of St. Egidio on telemedicine projects for DREAM Hospitals in Africa.

Dr. Petrolati holds the role of representative for the Lazio regional secretariat ANAAO Assomed for both the A.O. San Camillo Forlanini in Rome and INMI L. Spallanzani in Rome (2022-2026) and for the National Commission for Emergency Care.

He is author and co-author of numerous articles, posters, communications at congresses.
