specialist-professional-biography-headingProfessor Claudio Pusceddu is an expert in interventional radiology oncology with a career of more than 30 years in the field. Having graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Diagnostic Radiology and Medical Oncology at the University of Cagliari, he served as Director of Oncologic and Interventional Radiology at the A. Businco Oncology Hospital of the Azienda Ospedaliera ARNAS Brotzu in Cagliari until 2023. Since the same year, he has been a consultant for interventional oncology radiology at Mater Olbia Hospital.
His specialization mainly focuses on percutaneous ablative therapeutic treatments for pulmonary, renal, hepatic and bone neoplasms, as well as advanced reconstructive and osteosynthesis techniques for bone metastases. With 18 years' experience in interventional activity, he has also previously worked in diagnostic oncologic radiology and interventional biopsy and drainage.
Professor Pusceddu has authored more than 40 indexed articles and coauthored the European CIRSE guidelines for thermal ablation of bone malignancies. He has participated as a speaker at more than 150 national and 65 international scientific congresses, and is a reviewer for several international journals in the field. He is an active member of prestigious scientific societies, including SIRM, ESR, ESSO, CIRSE and ESSR.
