Dr. Manuela Serpilli is a medical doctor specialized in respiratory system diseases.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery at La Sapienza University in Rome, she specialized in respiratory diseases at the same university.

Dr. Serpilli has gained extensive hospital experience, providing care to patients with acute pulmonary diseases at CUBE (University Center for Emerging Bronchopulmonary Diseases), Forlanini. She has also worked at the Sleep Disorders Clinic of S. Camillo - Forlanini Hospital, coordinated by Dr. Di Michele, in collaboration with the Heart Failure Center at S. Camillo, focusing on prevention of sleep disorders in patients with chronic heart failure. She has also participated in the Smoking Cessation Clinic at CUBE in Rome and completed an internship at the Respiratory Failure Therapy Service (S.T.I.R.S.) at S. Camillo Hospital.

Throughout her career, Dr. Serpilli has developed advanced expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of lung diseases, mechanical ventilation, and respiratory pathophysiology.  She also attended a theoretical and practical advanced course at the Università Cattolica in Rome, where she acquired skills in thoracic ultrasound and bronchial endosonography.

Dr. Serpilli completed a professional Master’s in Obesity: Multidisciplinary Treatment and Nutritional Education in Childhood (Lazio Region) and obtained the BLS certification – American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR and AED).

She attended a residential course on Sleep Medicine (AIMS) in Bertinoro, where she gained expertise in diagnosing and treating sleep apnea and sleep disorders, including OSA/OSAS, Overlap Syndrome, central apneas, and Cheyne-Stokes periodic breathing.

As a medical assistant, she worked in Respiratory Rehabilitation at IRCSS San Raffaele Pisana and was head of the Pulmology Service and medical assistant in the respiratory, cardiological, orthopedic, and extensive rehabilitation departments at Casa di Cura Villa Sandra.

Dr. Serpilli has authored numerous scientific publications in both national and international pulmonology journals, and is a faculty member in the Sleep Dentistry Master's program at University Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna.
