        Dr. Salvatore Francesco Vadalà Di Prampero is a gastroenterologist with extensive experience in endoscopic procedures and hemostasis techniques for the treatment of GI bleeding. He is also an expert in advanced treatments for obesity, including the placement of intragastric balloons and endoscopic gastroplasty, for which he is also a certified trainer.

        After his medical degree and specialization in Gastroenterology from the University of Udine, he completed a PhD in Medicine at the University of Catania. Dr. Vadalà di Prampero was Visiting Physician at Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN and a trainer in advanced endoscopy at European Endoscopy Training Center, University Hospital A. Gemelli, Rome.

        His areas of interest include hepatobiliary diseases and chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), with a special focus on research as principal investigator in international studies.

        Since 2005, Dr. Vadalà di Prampero has held teaching positions at the University of Udine, training specialists in gastroenterology and endoscopy. Since 2020, he has also been teaching bariatric endoscopic surgery.

        Throughout his career, he has received numerous recognitions, including the ASGE Cook Medical Don Wilson Award in 2015. In 2024, he chaired the presidential plenary session at the American Digestive Disease Week (DDW).

        He has been actively involved in professional organizations, serving as regional councilor for the Italian Association of Gastroenterology (AIGO) and regional secretary for the Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SIED). He is a member of several international scientific societies, including the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the General Medical Council (GMC), the Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SIED), the Italian Society of Gastroenterology (SIGE), and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).

        Currently, Dr. Vadalà Di Prampero is a gastroenterologist at the Isola Tiberina Hospital – Gemelli Isola Hospital in Rome.
