Dr. David Viola

Dr. Viola is an endocrinology and metabolic diseases specialist. His main field of interest is endocrinological oncology and in particular papillary and medullary thyroid carcinoma in addition to other thyroid diseases: nodules, Basedow's disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

He is highly experienced in the treatment of a wide range of endocrine disorders, including obesity, hyperparathyroidism, endocrine hypertension, pituitary adenomas, early or delayed puberty, and short stature. His dedication to the application of endocrinology to women's health has led him to delve into conditions such as osteoporosis, menstrual cycle disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, hyperprolactinemia, and thyroid disease in pregnancy.

He is Chief Medical Endocrinologist at the Versilia Hospital, within the Azienda USL Toscana Nord-Ovest. He has collected numerous prizes and awards in the field of endocrinology. He has also contributed significantly to scientific research as an investigator in clinical trials of molecularly targeted drugs for locally advanced and/or metastatic thyroid tumours. In addition, Dr Viola shares his extensive knowledge and experience as a reviewer of articles for several scientific journals and has published over 200 scientific articles, and is an active member of leading endocrinology scientific societies.
