UPMC San Pietro FBF Receives JCI Accreditation
UPMC Hillman Cancer Center San Pietro FBF: JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation confirmed thanks to the strict anti-Covid-19 security measures
UPMC Hillman Cancer Center San Pietro FBF, a highly specialized radiotherapy center, of UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) in Rome, has obtained, for the second time, the JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation. The Center had won this recognition, a reference goal for the health world at an international level, for the first time in 2017: now it is reconfirmed until 2023. The accreditation was issued after a careful analysis of the quality standards of the center, in order to establish its adherence to those models of excellence designed to ensure and constantly improve patient safety and the quality of health care.

"Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the commission in charge carried out the remote evaluation without however diminishing the attention to detail and interviewing users directly. Crucial aspects such as continuity of care, infrastructure safety, staff training and therapeutic education of patients and family members were analyzed." – explained Elena Cino, Operations Manager of the center.
