Who should go for breast cancer screening?
Generally, for women over 40s. However, if risk factors are present, it is preferable to start screening from the age of 18. Briefly, risk factors are defined as genetic predisposition- if you have BRCA genes, so you are at high risk for breast cancer – or as familiarity – if you have close relatives (mother, sister, daughter) who were diagnosed with breast cancer at a young age – or, for example, obesity.
