ISMETT-UPMC Pancreas Unit: Luca Barresi elected member of the National Board of AISP

Dr. Luca Barresi, head of the Pancreas Unit at IRCCS ISMETT-UPMC, was elected member of the National Board of AISP (Italian Association for the Study of the Pancreas).

"This is not only a personal recognition but, most of all, a teamwork accomplishment by ISMETT-UPMC and its Pancreas Unit," said Dr. Luca Barresi.

ISMETT-UPMC is currently the leading center in Sicily for the number of pancreatic surgeries performed. Over the past year, the Pancreas Unit’s outpatient clinic followed over 1,000 patients, discussed 450 cases by a multidisciplinary team, and performed more than 70 pancreatectomies.
