UPMC at the Festival di Salute: Spotlight on Prof. Francesco Musumeci

9 October 2025

Once again this year, UPMC Italy is a partner of the Festival di Salute “So Different, So Alike”, taking place in Padua from October 8 to 11: four days of meetings, debates, and testimonies on the future of medicine.

Now in its sixth edition, the Festival has become a benchmark for scientific communication in Italy, focusing on key topics such as personalized medicine, technological innovation, prevention, and early diagnosis. The program features Nobel laureates, internationally renowned experts, institutional representatives, and leading figures from the medical and cultural sectors.

Among the speakers of this edition will be Prof. Francesco Musumeci, a pioneer in cardiac surgery and Senior Consultant at IRCCS ISMETT-UPMC in Palermo. An international reference point for innovation in cardiac surgery, he recently performed at ISMETT the first cardiac surgery procedure in Italy assisted by augmented reality.

At the Festival, he will give a talk entitled “The Heart Saved by Artificial Intelligence”, offering a cutting-edge perspective on the technologies that are transforming the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

UPMC Italy’s participation in the Festival reaffirms our commitment to promoting excellence in medicine—innovative, patient-centered, and driven by technological progress.
