“L’atleta al centro: mente, cuore e alimentazione nello sport.” Public event in Rome
9 October 2026
Sports engage the whole person: performance, psychological well-being, cardiovascular health, and nutrition are closely interconnected factors that contribute to the health and quality of life of people who engage in physical activity, whether at a recreational or competitive level.
To explore these topics, UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital is organizing “L’atleta al centro: mente, cuore e alimentazione nello sport”, a public event that will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Circolo Tennis Eur in Rome.
The event will offer participants the opportunity to hear from three specialists with different but complementary areas of expertise, with the goal of understanding how to approach physical activity in a safe, informed, and balanced way.
Speakers
- Prof. Giuseppe Bersani, psychiatrist, who will discuss the role of the mind in sports, from stress management to competitive pressure;
- Dr. Armando Calzolari, cardiologist and sports medicine specialist, who will explain the importance of cardiovascular prevention and the medical evaluations needed to practice sports safely;
- Dr. Roberta Poverini, nutrition biologist and expert in sports nutrition, who will address the nutritional needs of physically active individuals and the principles of healthy eating to support both performance and well-being.
The event will feature an engaging and interactive format, including a dedicated Q&A session. Participants will have the opportunity to speak directly with the specialists and explore questions and topics related to sports, prevention, and healthy lifestyles.
