UPMC Hillman Cancer Center San Pietro FBF was founded in 2013 in collaboration with the San Pietro Fatebenefratelli Hospital. The hospital is equipped with 500 beds and a highly advanced radiotherapy department.

The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center San Pietro FBF offers patients the opportunity to undergo highly innovative radiotherapy treatments, including stereotactic radiosurgery, to treat primary, secondary (metastatic), and recurrent tumors of all parts of the body. In addition, in the case of hard-to-reach tumors or in patients who cannot face surgery, radiotherapy can represent a valid alternative to invasive surgery.

The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center San Pietro FBF is equipped with one of the most advanced linear accelerators available on the market today. The TrueBeam™ STx, in fact, delivers a large number of doses of radiation with greater precision than the most common accelerators. This allows to reduce the duration of therapy and limit side effects.

In addition, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center San Pietro FBF was the first center in Italy to implement the advanced BrainLab ExacTrac Dynamic system. Critical for monitoring patients before and during treatment, this system enables maximum accuracy. This translates for the patient into greater comfort and safety of receiving radiation only on the tumor tissue, safeguarding the surrounding healthy tissues.
