At UPMC Hillman Cancer Center San Pietro FBF, doctors, physicists, radiation therapy technicians, nurses, and administrative staff work together to ensure you get the highest quality treatment. They also collaborate with specialists in the international oncology network of UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.

Their approach is multidisciplinary and is inspired by the model already adopted by the network cancer centers. The team benefits from the advice and contribution of experts in a variety of specialist disciplines. These include neurosurgery, medical and surgical oncology, pathological anatomy, health physics, diagnostic radiology, nursing, nutrition and psychology.

Radiation Procedures

All radiation procedures offered by UPMC Hillman Cancer Center are performed on an outpatient basis. They are non-invasive, painless, and do not require special dressings. In particular, at our Center, you can undergo:

• Intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT).
• Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).
• Stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SRS/SBRT).
• CT scan for the planning of radiotherapy treatment.
