Dr. Cecchi is a plastic surgeon. She received her diploma from d'Unità de Surgie Maxillo-Facial Et Plastique de la Face at the University of Nancy and a diploma in maxillofacial surgery of the hospital medical school of the Lazio region. She works in the U.O. plastic surgery of the Bambin Gesù hospital in Rome and is president of the AIDM section Italian Association of Women Medical Deca of Rome. By pursuing a great interest in the new frontiers of maxillofacial surgery, namely osteogenetic distraction, she introduced the method and carried out the first surgery of the jaw with distractors, in particular in babies with respiratory distress. Another innovative and pioneering success was the progress of the maxilla with distraction and the training of the auricular pavilion with autologous costal cartilage begins. To date, about 200 cases of total reconstruction have been carried out, constituting the greatest Italian case.
