He trained abroad taking part in translational research programs at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas (2000-2002) and the Oncological Institute of Italian Switzerland (Iosi, 2004-2005). He is an oncologist at the Department of Medical Oncology at the Camillo and Forlanini Hospital and is president of the Gastrointestinal multidisciplinary group of Rome. His areas of expertise include translational and clinical research in patients with gastrointestinal and lung tumors and the development of new targeted drugs. His main interests include clinical and translational research, the molecular resistance mechanisms and the progression of tumors. He is the author of over 250 publications and abstracts for peer-reviewed magazines and co-author of some chapters of international oncology books.
