Dr. Rosastella Principe is a medical surgeon specializing in Physiology and Diseases of the Respiratory System, with a long career dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary diseases and in particular tobacco smoke addiction and smoke-related diseases.

In more than 30 years of service, she gained extensive experience, particularly at the Azienda Ospedaliera S. Camillo-Forlanini in Rome, where she was Level I Director in Pulmonology until her retirement in 2021. During her career, at the same hospital company, she held various positions including pulmonary physician at the emergency department, in the division of respiratory infectious disease, at the respiratory sub-intensive care service, and at the pulmonary and interstitial lung disease DH.

Dr. Principe also served as pulmonologist in charge of the outpatient clinic for prevention and treatment of smoking in smoking-related diseases.

As an expert, he sits on the technical table for PDTA -BPCO and for the organization of Smoke Control Centers in the Lazio Region, as well as being part of the expert panel of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità for the drafting and updates of the “Guidelines for the treatment of tobacco and nicotine dependence,” published in 2023.

She is responsible for Central Italy of the Italian Association of Hospital Pneumologists' Tobacco Study Group and is a member of the Italian Society of Tabaccology (SITAB).
